We are all trying to be carbon neutral, so why
do we send old plastic half way across the
world for it to be processed and returned as
"Cheap bags"? At Biodegradable Bag we
recycle and manufacture in the UK.

Making an informed choice – Which material is right for you?

  • Plastic – virgin LDPE low density polyethylene granules extruded to manufacture polythene bags and plastic bags, film and sheets. This plastic material is popular for plastic food packaging, plastic carrier bags, plastic gift bags, plastic bags for wholesale or printed carrier bags, mailing bags etc.
  • Recycled – recycled plastic bags, film or sheets manufactured from regran or regrind or regranulated plastic granules. This recycled or recyclable material is popular for recycled waste bags, bin bags, refuse sacks, bin liners or sacks and plastic bags with recycled content. It can be tinted, colour coded, black or clear plastic bags. Our recycled plastic is now used for all the types of plastic bags from carrier bags to pet waste bags to bags for nappies. Waste to waste works.
  • Biodegradable Polythene or Degradable Plastic - plastic extruded and manufactured using an additive that is designed to accelerate degradation of plastic within a set time-frame. This degradable plastic is popular for all types of plastic bags now including: food packaging, carrier bags and waste bags. The additive we use is certified, made in this country and the best in our manufacturing viewpoint.
  • Compostable Starch - starch (usually corn) granules extruded to manufacture compostable bags and film to EN13432 standards Eg: food caddies, food waste bags, food canteen and restaurant bin bags.
